I really enjoyed our day participating in the demolition on 14th St N. It was a fun day of camaraderie with co-workers for a good cause! I worked with Habitat previously on the first Women Build project several years ago & was part of the planning committee for that event. I'm looking forward to helping more with the current project!
Thank you!

What a Celebration!!
We exceeded all expectations for marking our 20th Anniversary as a Habitat for Humanity affiliate. We are still amazed at all the excitement, enthusiasm and joy our guests expressed and experienced!
At least 200 people joined us for an afternoon of fun, food, games, crafts, presentations and special activities as well as recognizing the hard work and dedication of our volunteers!
That evening, another 230 people gathered to savor some special food and drink and celebrate the inspiring stories of five of the 62 families who have touched our hearts over the past 20 years.
Thank you for being there with us!! Once again, our ministry of lifting families out of poverty housing put its best foot forward thanks to a community of saints who helped make it happen. Over ninety volunteers and dozens of sponsors joined together to make this event a great success.
We've already posted some special memories of this event on our web site: http://www.cmhfh.org/pages/familyreunion/
We are so blessed to have the support of people like you in our community. We can't wait to see what the next 20 years will bring with you as our partners!!
Thank you for bringing hope to so many families in Central Minnesota!

When I read about the first Habitat for Humanity home being built in Big Lake, I knew it would be an opportunity for community service. So I offered to create a family portrait for Pam Jenson and her family this fall. When I showed Pam the 24x30 framed print just before today's new home dedication ceremony, she was thrilled. "I've always wanted a family portrait, but didn't think I could ever afford it," she said.

Pam and her family were displaced from their Elk River apartment last year when the building was heavily damaged by fire, smoke and water. It's comforting to know their beautiful new Big Lake home will provide some stability for Pam and her four children. I learned that Pam is not only a devoted mother, but committed to persevere in the face of adversity and teach her children the value of volunteer service to others.
To learn more about Pam and her family's new home, watch for stories next week in the West Sherburne Tribune and the Elk River Star News
