Thrivent Builds - 11th Ave SE

Thrivent Builds Project on 11th Ave SE in St. Cloud

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has given Central MN Habitat for Humanity a grant for $221,344 to build a twin home on 11th Ave SE in St. Cloud.  Construction began in May 2011 with the foundation being dug and concrete being poured.  Volunteer efforts started in June with the framing and continued throughout the summer and fall.

The kickoff ceremony was on June 9 at the 11th Ave SE site.  Al Buckner, CMHFH Board Chairperson, and Bruce Johnson, CMHFH Executive Director, spoke at the brief ceremony.  Thrivent Financial for Lutherans had Representatives there to share about the Thrivent Builds program and to ceremonially kickoff the build by helping raise a wall.  Volunteers, supporters, and Habitat homeowners were there to celebrate the kickoff of this project.  Pastor Elizabeth Strenge from Celebration Lutheran Church said a prayer to bless the site, the volunteers, and the future homeowners.  To view pictures of the Kickoff Ceremony, click HERE.
