Melanie Blake

Melanie Blake joined the Central MN Habitat for Humanity staff in May of 2009 as the Volunteer Coordinator.  Her role includes working with churches to get them involved in the builds.  This role fits her well as she worked in a Lutheran church for 12 years as a youth director. She brings the experience of working ecumenically with hundreds of volunteers and planning events. Construction and serving people are two of her favorite things to do, as she has led several youth mission trips where teens have worked on homes in impoverished areas. She enjoys being on the Habitat staff because it gives her the opportunity to live out her faith by serving families.

Melanie recently moved to Sauk Rapids from the Duluth area.  She lives with her husband, Eric, who is the Director of Youth Ministries at Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud.  They both enjoy fishing, frisbee golf, being outdoors, playing sports, mentoring teenagers, and building people up so that they fulfill their God-given potential.
