What is A ReStore?
A ReStore is a retail home improvement center that sells quality new (surplus) and used donated building materials. All ReStore merchandise is donated and sales revenue supports the mission of Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity. The ReStore relies on volunteers and donations to be successful.
Who donates to the ReStore?
Anyone can donate to the ReStore. Most often donors are contractors, home builders, remodelers, retail operations, rental management companies and individuals.
Why would I donate to the ReStore?
Donating to the ReStore is an alternative and cost effective way to dispose of materials that would otherwise be taken to the landfill. In Minnesota alone over 6 million tons of useable building materials have been kept out of landfills through other ReStore programs. Beyond these economic and environmental benefits donating to the ReStore can also provide tax advantages, eliminates the cost of storing or restocking excess merchandise, and all proceeds support the mission of Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity.

ReStore came to St. Cloud in May 2011. This brand new discount retail outlet is located at 2801 West Saint Germain Street in Saint Cloud.
Who is the ReStore's competition?
The ReStore's biggest competiton are landfills if excess materials aren't donated to the ReStore they will most likely end up in a landfill.
Other thrift and second hand stores are not considered competition to the ReStore. These retail operations sell much different product than the ReStore. Items such as bedding and clothing are not accepted at the ReStore so that it does not have the potential to pose a threat to these other organizations.
Big box and businesses that also sell building and home improvement materials are not considered competition. The ReStore is a resource for these entities. These businesses will be able to donate to the ReStore and reap the benefits of donating to the ReStore.
