Be a Volunteer!

"Everyone can be great because anyone can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't even have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. . . You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love. . ."
    Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity is always looking for volunteers to help out in a variety of ways. It's a great opportunity to give back to your community while meeting new people and having a great time! For more information about specific positions, visit our Opportunities page.

New Volunteer?

All Habitat for Humanity volunteers must fill out a waiver each year. If you are a first-time volunteer or if this is your first time volunteering for this calendar year, please print off the waiver, fill it out, and bring it with you to the work site. The waiver form is also available at the work site.

Helpful information for new volunteers...
-Please come prepared for general construction and be willing to help out with whatever the construction needs are for the day.
-There is always a skilled Team Leader that will instruct and oversee volunteers. Volunteers will not be asked to do a task that they feel unsafe or uncomfortable doing.
-We ask that you show up on time and stay for your full shift. We start each shift with a safety briefing and orientation, so if you are unable to be on time, you may be asked to sign up for a new shift.
-Please wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing.
-Lunch is not provided. You are welcome to bring your own lunch or leave the site from noon - 1pm to get lunch. We will have bottled water on site, but we encourage volunteers to bring their own bottle of water.
-You do not need to bring any tools or equipment. We will provide all supplies. If you do bring your own tools, be sure to label them clearly. We are not responsible for lost or stolen personal items.
