Big Lake Dedication

On Wednesday, November 18th, 2009, Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity Staff gathered with volunteers, Thrivent Financial representatives, neighbors, and of course, the excited Partner Family to celebrate the dedication of our first home in Big Lake.

Words of thanks and excitement were spoken by Bruce Johnson, Executive Director, along with DJ Bakken of Bakken Building and Remodeling, and Thrivent Financial representatives Scott Kottke and Dave Jackson. House-warming gifts were presented to the partner families by Family Services Coordinator Laurie Larson-Dahlin and Thrivent representative Judy Dinger. We concluded the ceremony with a blessing from Alison Noble, former staff member of Central Lutheran Church.

After the ceremony everyone enjoyed refreshments provided by Sherburne County Thrivent Financial representatives and took a tour of the house to see where all the hard work has led us.

The event was a wonderful success and, as always, it was so glorious to see the smiles on the faces of the soon-to-be homeowners as they shared their excitement and thanks with the members of the community that helped make their dream of homeownership a reality.

Thanks again to everyone who contributed to making sure these homes would be ready so the Jenson family can be 'home for the holidays'!
