Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity is seeking community members to be on the Family Selection Committee. The Committee hosts informational meetings, interviews the perspective homeowners and provides suggestions of top candidates to the CMHFH staff and Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
-Advertise and recruit for informational meeting on how to become a homeowner.
-Conduct the semi-annual informational meetings for potential homeowners.
-Assist in gathering applicant information.
-Assist applicants in submitting paperwork for the homebuyer program application.
-Determine if family income meets CMHFH homebuyer guidelines.
-Determine if application is complete and all required documents are submitted.
-Organize applicant files for interviews.
-Interview potential homeowners and debrief information.
-Submit report to CMHFH staff and Board of Directors.
Skill Qualifications
-Ability to ensure the confidentiality of applicants.
-To be culturally diverse and compassionate.
-Comfortable with public speaking.
-Enjoy working with a variety of people.
-Knowledge of resources that can be utilized in the four county areas: Stearns, Benton, Sherburne and Wright.
-Willing to learn and understand the Mission of CMHFH.
-Willing to represent CMHFH in the community.
-Ability to speak multiple languages preferred, but not required.
Time Commitment
2 year commitment which consists of 6 committee and 4 informational meetings per year.
Age Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Training & Supervision
Supervision provided by Family Services Coordinator.
