Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity uses volunteers to help our receptionist answer and direct calls to staff. Front desk volunteers also help with small projects that come up throughout the day such as bulk mailing, filing and assisting the Administrative Director.
Responsibilities
-Answering phones and directing calls.
-General clerical duties.
-Occasional bulk mailing projects.
Volunteer Impact
Front Desk/ Administration volunteers have the unique and valuable opportunity to experience many aspects of Habitat's organization. The volunteer may be the first person a potential homebuyer speaks with and can also help save our staff time by handling small projects that keep the organization running smoothly.
Skills
Prior phone and receptionist experience preferred. Volunteers should also be detail-oriented. Prior clerical and computer experience is also helpful.
Time Commitment
2-3 hours one day per week, or called as needed.
Training and Supervision
Provided by Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity's receptionists or Administrative Director.
