Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Find the Volunteer Position that is Right For You
Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity volunteers build homes alongside low income individuals and families in need of decent and affordable housing. Construction Volunteers participate in the building of homes at most stages of construction. Because these opportunities are so popular, we have an online calendar where you can see available dates and times and sign up whenever fits your schedule. No need to pick up the phone or send an e-mail. Once you sign up for Giveffect, our system for managing volunteers, you can view our online volunteer calendar and sign up for shifts.

Federal regulations prohibit children under the age of 14 to be on site. For children ages 14-15, they are not allowed on site during construction but can engage in limited activities such as clean-up, landscaping, or painting. For children ages 16-17, they can be on site during construction, but cannot use power tools, cannot be on ladders, and cannot do demolition. All volunteers under the age of 18 must have an adult supervisor at the ratio of 2-3 students per adult.

Equal housing opportunity

We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
