Homeowner Services Coordinator

Job Description 

The role of the Homeowner Services Coordinator, a 30 hr/wk position (potential to grow into full time role), is to coordinate and manage people and processes related to the Homeownership Program, in conjunction with other CMHFH staff and volunteers.
 
Pay Range: $16 - $22 per hour
Ideal Start Date: June 6th, 2022
 
Supervisor: Executive Director

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Homeownership Program, including:
    • Develop and implement policies in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, as well as HFHI policies.
    • Work with Communications staff to ensure that everyone in the CMHFH service area is aware of this opportunity for affordable homeownership.
    • Collect and review Applications and supporting materials, and present qualified Applicants to Selection Committee and Board of Directors for approval as Homebuyers.
    • Establish benchmarks and monitor progress throughout the Homebuyer process, including Homeowner Education classes and Sweat Equity requirements.
    • Coordinate the mortgage closing process, working with other CMHFH staff as needed.
    • Implement CMHFH’s Delinquency and Foreclosure Policy as needed.
    • Maintain communication with Applicants, Homebuyers, and Homeowners throughout the process.
  • Engage and empower community volunteers to be involved in each aspect of the Homeownership Program.
  • Work with CMHFH staff/volunteers to share Homebuyer and Homeowner stories, advancing the mission of Habitat while maintaining an environment of respect and dignity.
  • Collaborate with CMHFH staff/volunteers to organize events and activities celebrating key milestones for Homebuyers (ground breakings/wall raisings, dedications, etc.).
  • Obtain and maintain Qualified Loan Originator status through HFHI and HFHMN annual trainings, as well as staying current with any changes in regulations or best practices related to the Homeownership Program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Enthusiastically embrace and advocate the mission and vision of Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity with community groups and individuals.
  • Experience in social work, the housing industry, and/or mortgage lending.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cultural competency skills to effectively work with a wide variety of people in a collaborative way.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by low-income individuals and families is highly desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to accomplish work results, be “fair and firm, but flexible” with clients.
  • Integrity, organization, attention to detail, ability to work independently in meeting team goals with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Flexible schedule--some nights and weekends are required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
