Spartan Build
Habitat for Humanity is coming to ROCORI!
Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity has been partnering with local high schools, colleges, and youth organization since 2015, and this year we're thrilled to announce that students at three local high schools will be picking up their hammers to build the upper level of a Habitat home from start to finish!
At ROCORI High School in Cold Spring, Ty Filzen, Industrial Technology Teacher, will lead the students in a hands-on homebuilding experience. Construction materials will be delivered to the school, and they will gain valuable experience framing, installing siding, roofing, trim, and cabinetry. The students will spend the next two years getting an in-depth look at what it takes to build a home, with plans to complete the upper level of the home by May 2023, when it will be moved to a donated or purchased lot and completed by community volunteers.
The partnership with Habitat helps students prepare for promising careers in the trades. And, with each school build, a local family in need also realizes a path to stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership. It's a win for the entire community and is only possible with your support.
An Opportunity for Engagement & Sponsorship
This project is a terrific opportunity for individuals, groups and businesses to share their commitment to community engagement and education by visibly supporting a well-known school and charitable organization in St. Cloud.
