Tiger Build
Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity (CMHFH) partners with St. Cloud Tech High School’s Career and Technical Education program each year to build a Habitat home that is sold to a qualifying, local, family in need. Tech high school juniors and seniors build the upper half of a six bedroom home on the new campus of Tech High School. The project often utilizes also St. Cloud Technical & Community College students who are studying the construction trades, business management, graphic design and other careers. CMHFH provides the home design, permits, building materials and the lot to which the house is moved.
Named “Tiger Build” after the school’s mascot, this is an exciting partnership for the community. Not only do students learn valuable trade skills, but a local family is given a hand up by being able to become homeowners. The sixth Tiger Build will kick off with the 2020-2021 school year. The hope is that other school build partnerships will develop within our four county area of service.
An Opportunity for Engagement & Sponsorship
This project is a terrific opportunity for individuals, groups and businesses to share their commitment to community engagement and education by visibly supporting a well-known school and charitable organization in St. Cloud. Sponsorships will be recognized in various ways in 2020.
